We are pleased to announce the establishment of the Alberico Verzoletto Archive, a project to protect, preserve, and enhance the rich and complex creative journey of this Biella-born artist.

Alberico Verzoletto (Botto di Trivero, Biella, 1935) is a figurative artist of Expressionist origin. A self-taught painter with great sensitivity and a profound connection to nature, he has developed a remarkably broad and varied artistic output over the course of over fifty years, including paintings, drawings, watercolors, and sculptures.

The general archive, promoted by the artist’s family and curators, has cataloged over 650 works, including paintings, drawings, watercolors, and sculptures in the round. This valuable body of work documents Verzoletto’s stylistic evolution, from his initial references to the French painting of the 1950s and 1960s to his linguistic maturation in the 1980s and the more intense reflections of his final years.

In addition to cataloging and preserving works, the Archive aims to:

• document and study the artist’s entire creative corpus;
• provide information and materials to scholars, curators, and collectors;
• support exhibitions and research initiatives to spread awareness of Verzoletto’s work.

The establishment of the Archive represents a fundamental step in ensuring the continuity and visibility of Alberico Verzoletto’s artistic legacy, contributing to the rediscovery and recognition of his contribution to 20th-century Italian figurative art.
